BSA's 2023 Distinguished Citizens Dinner
The Distinguished Citizens Dinner is the showcase fundraising event for the Mountaineer Area Council, Boy Scouts of America to support all Scouting programs in north central West Virginia and recognize those in the community who exemplify the spirit of the Scout Oath and Scout Law in their everyday life. Past individual honorees include George R. Farmer Jr., E. Gordon Gee, David C. Hardesty Jr., Bob Huggins, Hershel "Woody" Williams, David Alvarez, Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, Ben Hardesty, Mon Health System, Amy Bush, Antero Resources, Maj. Gen. (ret.) Jim Hoyer, and Mon Power.
The 2023 event will honor Jeff Hostetler (former NFL & WVU quarterback, founder of Hoss Foundation) and Diversified Energy. Additional presentations will include this year's recognition of the Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Awards and recent accomplishments of local Scouts.
